STYLE / ABV – Breakfast Stout / 5%
WHY IT’s WINTER – It’s chockful of chocolate, coffee & rum notes, delivering the luxurious cuddle you want from a festive dark beer, but at a moreish ABV.
MORE INFO – A Great Taste 2022 award-winner, lovingly brewed with cacao nibs from local, award-winning chocolatier J Cocoa & ethically-traded coffee beans from Lindfield Coffee Works. The complex grain bill adds further luxurious dark chocolate, whilst oats & lactose deliver a velvety mouthfeel.

STYLE / ABV – Imperial Stout / 11%
WHY IT’s WINTER – Thick, warming imperial stout perfect for the winter evenings in front of the fire.
MORE INFO – An imperial strength stout brewed with our pals at Third Moon Brewing in Ontario. Expect flavours reminiscent of cacao, bourbon, fresh tobacco, desiccated coconut and breakfast pancakes with maple syrup.

NAME – Xmas Cracker ESB
STYLE / ABV – ESB (Extra Special Bitter) / 5.2%
WHY IT’s WINTER – It’s big, boozy, mellow cask beer with lots of biscuits and caramel going on with touch of spice. Ideal for nooks and firesides.
MORE INFO – Xmas Cracker is a deep, warming barrel of malty caramel, biscuits and raisins, with a subtle bang of tropical fruit on the nose. This extra special pint of British Best is perfect for the fireside and guaranteed to give you a proper glow. Hops: Olicana and Fuggles.

NAME – Stoutzilla
STYLE / ABV – Imperial Stout / 10%
WHY IT’s WINTER – Launches once a year, in winter. A big, bold and warming imperial stout.
MORE INFO – Still a limited release, this is an awesome Imperial Stout, brewed with huge amounts of chocolate malt, Bramling Cross hops and muscovado sugar. and finished with a glug of bourbon and lashings of Madagascan vanilla and dark fruity coffee.

NAME – Base Ejection Smoked Rye
STYLE / ABV – Rauchbier (smoked beer) / 5.2%
WHY IT’s WINTER – When you’re in that mood that calls for a beer offering something different, but you can’t quite put your finger on it, this is that beer.
MORE INFO – Spiciness from the rye and a subtle smokiness from German beech smoked malt, produce a beer that can only be described as savoury. Its warming smokiness isn’t overdone. It’s a great beer to finish the evening off with.

WHY IT’s WINTER – The intense flavours of the mocha porter provide an exceptional heating sensation, perfect for winter!
MORE INFO – Collaboration with Linfield Coffee Works. Huge helpings of coffee and cacao, dashes of vanilla and lactose and a speciality roasty malt bill which create a thick and creamy decadent porter.

NAME – Here Comes The Void
STYLE / ABV – Impy Stout / 8.8%
WHY IT’s WINTER – Is an answer to the question, “how much malt can we fit in our Mashtun?” Sweet, smooth, and definitely not showing its strength.
MORE INFO – Deep in the darkness lives bitter, dark chocolate and fresh-roasted coffee, thick and warming with notes of dried fruit. Sink in to these luxurious depths and let the darkness take you. Available in keg and very limited cans.

STYLE / ABV – Traditional Auld Ale / 5.5%
WHY IT’s WINTER – True to its origin our traditional Auld Ale delivers the festive indulgence we oh so need!
MORE INFO – The perfect winter tipple for fireside drinking this dark ale glows deep ruby. The roasted barley, crystal 400 and cashmere hops builds notes of cinder toffee and spicy nutmeg. Brewed with an English ale yeast, Nottingham; it will remind you of boozy Christmas cake and roasted oranges. At the launch event we sold sold a firkin in 4 hours…

NAME – EXP05 Christmas Cake
STYLE / ABV – Winter Dark Pale / 6.6%
WHY IT’s WINTER – It’s all the best flavours of a Christmas cake!
MORE INFO – This beer as flavours of cherry, raisin and rum, with a subtle cinnamon notes poking through. Crafted to be very well balanced and easy to drink, especially at a Christmas market.
FIND IT… – Available at the brewery tap room at Kemptown Industrial Estate, and pouring at the Christmas Market at St. Peter’s Church, Valley Gardens.

NAME – Twanky Dillo
STYLE / ABV – India Porter / 5%
WHY IT’s WINTER – Named after a traditional Sussex drinking song and based on an 1850s Porter recipe, this is perfect winter tipple.
MORE INFO – This porter features a complex grist of pale, amber, brown and black malt with double the hops of Athena original London Porters. Rich, complex and satisfying with a smooth taste and hoppy finish. Hops – Columbus, Simcoe, Cascade BBC

BREWER – Cloak and Dagger
NAME – Debauched Orgy
STYLE / ABV – ‘Birthday’ New England IPA / 5%
WHY IT’s WINTER – We don’t strictly have anything that fits the bill for a Xmas or Winter release, but nothing is hotter than a party, so as our Birthday falls this time of year (13th December), and as it’s our 5th Birthday this year, we wanted to do something very special.
MORE INFO – We’ve used a couple of different exciting hop products to really ramp this beer up, taking it to fairly stupid equivalent of about 25g/ litre for the hopping rate. We’ve used both Lupomax & Spectrum of both Sabro & Bru-1. These super concentrated hop products are great at delivering huge aromatics without adding too much vegetal matter, meaning huge punch without the hop burn.

BREWER – Bedlam Brewery
NAME – Clemency
STYLE / ABV – Traditional Amber Ale / 4.2%
WHY IT’s WINTER – Bright and sweet citrus notes come from Mandarina Bavaria hops combined with the malts to create flavours of marmalade to deliver subtle warmth and sweetness; the perfect refuge during colder months.
MORE INFO – We brew this using local award-winning St Clement’s marmalade made by Jaki at Perfectly Preserved, Worthing (winner of the international Marmalade awards!) to infuse a terrific, tangy flavour. This beer will be available in cask locally but is not released in can or bottle.
