What the website says…

We started making beer because we love the process and the product.
We feel great beer should be something to be savoured throughout the entire process.
We love what we do and we love making beer for people who enjoy it.

Our take on the brewery…

360 Brewing have come a long way in a short time (if you ignore 2 years of lockdowns). From a brand on the brink of vanishing in 2019, to a brewery that’s now resurgent and regularly found in Brighton on the taps and not just the cask pumps of Brighton, which you can’t say for many rural Sussex breweries.

The can art keeps going through evolutions and each one is eye catching and intriguing, usually with a good backstory to go with it. The team I’ve met appear very passionate about the product, not settling, always tinkering and looking to improve recipes, and bringing out some great seasonal series to keep things interesting. We particularly enjoyed their East meets West coast APAs in 2022.

The brewery has become more prominent in Brighton as Indigo pubs have started stocking them on cask and keg, Sussex Haze, the Bluebell Best Bitter and Fastback might ring a bell from their bars.

A bit of history…

360 Degree brewery started life in 2013 and for a while was predominantly a small cask brewery selling into the local community. Some keg and small-pack canned beers followed as they upped production around 2016, however by 2019 the brand and brewery was in decline.

In Spring 2020 a change of ownership took place and the new team have grown bit by bit, from just 3 people for a long time, to 9 members now and aspirations to grow further.

In late 2021 they opened a Tap Room at the brewery on Sheffield Park Industrial Estate where punters can enjoy a beer within earshot of steam locomotives from Bluebell Railway and a view across a lovely rural setting.

How local are they?

The Sheffield Park location makes 360 part of a crowd of East Sussex brewers making their home in a belt between Haywards Heath and Uckfield. These include; Bestens, Bedlam, Hairy Dog, Merakai, and Only With Love among others.

Our favourites 🍺

At a tap takeover at The Brunswick in April 2022 we had the chance to sample loads of fresh examples from 360 Brewing, and there were 2 in particular that hit the top marks.

Fastback is a West Coast pale served on cask and keg, but I’m mad for the keg version at 5.2%. There’s a powerful toffee and salted caramel malt sweetness at first which transitions seamlessly into a distinct hop bitterness that lingers nicely. Its a lovely amber colour, taste’s great. An all round winner for me.

Laugh The Day Away is an East meets West coast APA at 4.9%. Thick and juicy. Flavours of orange juice and slight grapefruitiness. Wonderful mouthfeel and balance to the beer. Really liked this and very sessionable at the ABV.

What the website says…

The name 360 Degree Brewing Co. was born out of the fact that we are located on the Greenwich Meridian in East Sussex, at zero degrees longitude.

We enjoy drinking, sharing and making 360 degrees of craft beer, styles new and old, from far and wide. Our aim is to bring you 360° of the best craft beers we can.

Engaging with our local community is important to us, and we have always welcomed feedback on what we do and what we make.

Our goal remains unchanged, to producing great beers, to be enjoyed by all.
