What the website says…

We want to make beers that people get excited about, look forward to, seek out, covet and boast about drinking. To make a product that inspires the same level of anticipation we get every time our favourite breweries release a new beer; we’re enthusiasts first.

Our take on Cloak and Dagger Brewing..

Cloak and Dagger beers are modern and punchy and their artwork is tongue in cheek and eye catching, with psychedelic artwork and characters pulled from the depths of someones genius/warped mind.

The beers are all keg focussed, the majority of their range are pale ales, but right across the abv range, from a 2.8% table, to DDHs, and some more experimental adjunct flavoured options. These are refreshing beers made to be juicy, hop forward and seasonable. I have found the finish of their beers to be in the dry and bitter spectrum rather than sweet, even the Helles, which has a wonderful malt character, still finishes with some hop bitterness.

A bit of history…

Cloak and Dagger Brewing popped up seemingly out of nowhere in 2016 but have quickly made their mark. They opened their very cool tap room, The Cloak Room, on St James’ street late 2018 however COVID unfortunately saw that close.

How local are they?

During the COVID lockdowns the brewing moved from a barn in Ringmer to Hand Brew Co’s new production premises on an industrial estate in Worthing. The space doubles as a tap room which means you can drink their products uber fresh.

Our favourites 🍺

Without a doubt Komodo Bozo is our reliable go to beer from Cloak and Dagger Brewing. A straight up fruity and sessionable 4.2% IPA that delivers on balance, mouthfeel, refreshment, flavour, finishes bitter enough to keep you drinking, and never disappoints. The mad name and fierce fire-breathing komodo dragon on the clip art doesn’t harm it’s likeability either.

Another fave is the Routes to Pluto Double Dry Hopped  Hazy Pale. a ri-hi-diculously crushable beer that feels incredible in the mouth and slips down easy without the bitter finish. At 5.5% it can be considered sessionable by modern standards, but gives a decent medium and soft moutheel, dangerously moerish!

Started by 3 friends from Brighton with an incredible passion for beer. We’re not about hyperbolic fluffy talk, just creative thinking, great design and above all, flavour. Starting small with big ideas, we’re bringing our own style to the party.

Brewing out of Highfield Farm in Ringmer, Sussex, also the home of Franklins Brewing, the guys brew in close proximity to Brighton.
