An honest, down-to-earth boozer with plenty of sport and Harvey's beer

A down-to-Earth place to enjoy sport and Harvey’s beer
This Harvey’s-owned pub is tucked away and easy to miss off London Road, but Mitre Tavern Brighton offers something wholly different to the student-aimed pubs on the high street.
The bar has had a freshen up in 2020 that opened it up making it feel brighter and more modern. They have done away with the worn out carpets, old furniture and the side room, and while it feels less of a bedded in pub, it’s no less welcoming. So expect to feel right at home the moment you walk in, particularly if the log fire is going on a winter’s evening, and definiately if you have a cute dog.
Harvey’s ale options dominate the cask pumps and they also serve their newer keg options among the typical lager brands.
Sport is shown here regularly and it’s a reliable place to get a seat for football or rugby if everywhere else is rammed.
The Mitre Brighton is a place for those seeking a quieter, locals vibe in the London Road area.
