The Cleveland Arms Brighton

Independently run by a family who are fans of Harvey’s ale

The Cleveland Arms Brighton is neat and simple with a bright, open-plan layout, pleasant but perhaps lacking in the cosy nooks and corners of a traditional bedded in pub. That said it doesn’t affect the atmosphere as on a busy weekend evening the loyal local following can make this pub feel warm and vibrant.

The menu offers lots of option and prices match the Gastro-pub orientation, which is suggested by the formally laid out dining area in a conservatory section. On our last visit the food here really impressed us on the whole, as it should at premium prices.

The Harvey’s cask beer here tasted great and, though the pub is independent, opting for Harvey’s on the pumps means they’ll get some of their great seasonal rotations. On the taps you’ll find an array of typical lagers and Guinness but nothing you could consider craft.

The Cleveland Arms Brighton feels aimed towards an affluent local audience who might eat out at their local, however it’s certainly a pleasant place to be for a few pints as well.
