Farm Tavern Hove
Simple and friendly, bright and charming
The bar at Farm Tavern Hove lies on the left side, with tables and long benches facing it from the other side of the narrow main space that still feels bright despite the lack of windows as you go further back.
A booth at the front overlooks a couple of benches outside, either of which make a good communal place to pass the time. Venture upstairs and you’ll find a larger space which can hired for private shindigs.
There’s often a tranquil air here in the daytime, and the space comes alive with many chatty locals propping up the bar in the evenings. There isn’t a traditional kitchen but the pub offers a sharing menu, with some tasty gluten-free morsels and party food for large groups.
Being a Greene King establishment the keg and cask offering is mostly limited to their range, along with big-brand lagers and Guinness. It’s the only pub locally where we’ve seen Olde Trip, if you’re a fan of Greene King’s Best Bitter.
Farm Tavern Hove is a cute little pub with a great local following nestled a short walk from the busy Western Road strip, and is definitely worth the diversion for a relaxed drink.
