The Station Hove

A popular crowd-pleasing option just seconds from Hove station

The Station Hove is Greene King run, and a farily recent revamp finds it bright, modern and spacious throughout, which is great for seating large groups, but perhaps leaves it feeling purposeful rather than cosy or characterful.

The long bar extends down the length of the pub, which is an L shape layout. It has a large tabled seating area at the far end, booths across the way from the bar, and fruit machines, a pool table and big screen TVs at the corner end. There’s also a small smoking section adjacent.

The bar has a plentiful selection of big-brand lagers. There are three pumps offering Greene King brewed beers and Harveys Best. On keg there’s Camden Hells, Brewdog’s Punk IPA or Beavertown Neck Oil, but there’s nothing local on the taps.

There’s plenty to tempt you in. On the food front a big oven churns out pizzas, which are for 2-for-1 on Tuesdays, and there are other menu snack options besides.

The Station hosts regular Jive Sundays throughout the year, sport is shown on screens across the bar, and the Wednesday quiz night is so popular that pre-booking is compulsory.
